The 2000 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems (ICPADS) 
is to provide an international forum for scientists, engineers, and computer users 
to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results on all 
aspects of parallel and distributed systems. The main program will include technical
presentations, invited talks, and panels. In addition to the main program, several 
workshops on hot topics in various areas of parallel and distributed systems will 
be held. The Iwate Prefectural University is about 500 km north of Tokyo, about
three hours from Tokyo by the super express train of Tohoku Shinkansen.

Paper Submission:
=================
Prospective authors are invited to submit research contributions representing
original, previously unpublished work. Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated 
based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. 
All papers will be refereed by at least three experts including members of the program
committee. All submitted papers MUST not exceed 25 double-spaced, 8.5 x 11-inch pages
including figures and references in 10-12 point font. Each page must be numbered.

Each author is required to submit your paper electronically to our ftp site
or to icpads@takilab.k.dendai.ac.jp by e-mail. The authors are strongly
recommended to submit the paper by FTP.

Please prepare your paper as plain ASCII PostScript or PDF, with NO encoding,
condensing, or encapsulation. Please use TrueType 1 fonts wherever possible.
Do not use bitmapped fonts such as Computer Modern.

File Name
Please save your file using your family name, i.e. John Smith's file would be
smith.ps for a ps file and smith.pdf for a pdf file.
If you are submitting two or more files, please number them: smith1.ps, smith2.ps,
smith1.pdf, smith2.pdf, etc.

Your name, address, phone, fax, URL (your Web address, if you have one),
your email address, the title of your paper, keywords, abstract, and the
FILENAME(s) you used. 

Workshop Proposal:
==================
In conjunction with the conference, several workshops on hot topics related
with parallel and distributed systems will be held. Papers submitted to 
each workshop will be reviewed by the min-program committee of the workshop.

The workshop proposal must include the title of workshop, brief description
of topics in about 300 words, ordered list of keywords in significancy, 
and workshop chair's information, i.e. name, address, e-mail, fax, and phone.

   Submission of workshop proposals : August 1, 1999
   Submission of papers : October 17, 1999
   Notification of acceptance : February 22, 2000
   Camera ready papers  : March 31, 2000

Publications and Awards
=======================
All accepted papers will appear in the Proceedings published by IEEE Computer
Society. The conference papers will be published in the proceedings of ICPADS2000
and the workshop papers in the proceedings of ICPADS workshops. The authors 
of selected papers are planned to be invited to submit an extended version
